What are some low fat/calorie, high protein vegetarian foods?
for snacks that i can easily bring to school i tend to eat the primal strips. soo yummy and very high protein. i also really like the light life brand of deli slices and fake bacon. they're very yummy and they're designed to be lower in calories and fat but full of protein. they have them at most grocery stores. i love making fake turkey sandwiches to bring to school and work. could you also try putting the beans into something that disguises the fact that they are beans? i like to make veggie burgers out of beans and i make daal a lot too. how about seitan? you can find some really easy recipes online and it tends to be pretty low in calories and fat because it's made out of wheat. and it's really yummy. we make burgers out of seitan and also little buffalo fake chicken seitan cutlets. you can make seitan taste like anything you want, so have fun with it. if you want to use tofu, you could try soy boy. if she thinks tofu is gross she might like this more. it doesn't taste like tofu at all and it has much less water content. they are so good cut up and fried in a little oil to make crispy. i put them on salad as a fake chicken caesar salad sort of thing. you can also add silken tofu to a lot of recipes for protein and you can't taste it at all! i hope these ideas help!
